Committed to DISCRETION, PROFESSIONALISM AND INTEGRITY
His ranking as Douglas Elliman's #1 Individual Agent in 2012 and 2010,and #3 in 2013 among 5,000 real estate professionals company-wide is a testament to Marcos Cohen's outstanding sales record, and dedication to impeccable client service - the cornerstone of his business. "I'm so proud to have achieved the firm's highest honor by providing my clients with a portfolio of the most exceptional New York City properties, and guiding them through every step of the process with hands-on, white-glove attention."
Everyone from the CEO of Douglas Elliman, Dottie Herman, to his discerning clientele agrees that Marcos is unique and exemplary. He knows what clients want on every level, and has the ability to broker deals in all price points. People are drawn to Marcos because he is focused, charismatic, an expert negotiator, and a loyal advocate who fosters long-term relationships. Equally important is his ability to have a great time, and make his clients and colleagues laugh!
"In my 20-year real estate career, I've developed a deep understanding of every facet of a transition as well as keen insight of complexities of our market. Because of my proven track record and expertise, I am frequently sought out by key local and international media to comment on what's happening in the ever-changing, fascinating world of Manhattan real estate." Most recently, Marcos, who though wildly successful is extremely humble, was spotlighted as "The Under-the-Radar Power Broker" by The Real Deal, a leading trade publication interested in his career and specialty working with international buyers (see article In the "News" section).
A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marcos is fluent and conducts business in Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian as well as English. He knows the importance of 'speaking your customer's language,' just as he did in his first job in New York trying to lure passersby into an electronics store. "If they were Russian, I'd say something in Russian!"
Marcos moved to New York City in 1987 and joined Elliman in 1994. He has been a consistent top-producer ever since. The recent upswing in Brazilian buyers in the marketplace helped catapult his position as a company leader, and grew his international clientele to comprise half of his business.
Whether you seek a primary residence or an investment property, Marcos will find you the perfect location, property and value. He would be honored to assist you or someone you know with your NYC real estate needs, and help you make decisions with utmost confidence.
